Who's in Charge?
. . . just as he who called you
is holy,
so be holy in all you do. 1 Peter 1:15
Has your mother ever said to you, "You're in charge?"
When you're put in charge of something, you are like a king reigning
over it. You have control and are responsible for seeing that the
assignment is carried out.
Have you ever wondered who's in charge of the world? The Bible
tells us that God is sovereign. That means He is in charge or in
control of all things. He is the highest ruler. No one is over God.
God reigns over everything and everybody all the time. Nothing can
happen unless God allows it to happen. He is in control of everything
day and night-24 hours a day, seven days a week, 52 weeks a year.
He never sleeps or goes away on vacation.
How long will God reign? The Bible says, "The Lord will reign
for ever and ever" (Exodus 15:18). God was always in control
and He always will be in control. What does that mean for you? No
matter what happens in your life, you don't have to be afraid or
upset because God is in control. He loves you, and He wants you
to trust Him completely. God is the greatest. He is sovereign. He
is the King of kings.
